Three categories
We group cookies into three categories. Only essential cookies are active by default. The rest wait for your choice.
- Essential: needed for the site to work. Cannot be turned off without breaking core features (consent, payment, security).
- Analytics: helps us understand which pages get read, how you got here, what's broken. Off by default.
- Marketing: lets us serve relevant ads on Meta and other networks. Off by default. We're not actively running this yet — it's a future option.
Detailed list
| Name | Domain | Category | Duration | Purpose |

tav_session | taverneai.com | Essential | Session | Admin session security (only applies to admin pages) |
_ga | taverneai.com | Analytics | 2 years | Google Analytics 4 user identifier |
_ga_* | taverneai.com | Analytics | 2 years | GA4 session persistence (suffix matches the GA4 property) |
_gid | taverneai.com | Analytics | 24 hours | GA4 daily user identifier |
_fbp | taverneai.com | Marketing | 90 days | Meta Pixel — only active if you consent to marketing and tracking is in place |

How to change your mind
- The "Cookie preferences" button in the footer reopens the banner with your current state. Adjust, save.
- Clear your browser cookies — the banner will return on next visit with defaults (analytics and marketing off).
- Email david_cyr@hotmail.fr to manually remove data tied to your email address.
Consent Mode v2
The site implements Google Consent Mode v2. Plainly: until you consent to analytics, GA4 stores no measurement cookies. It may send anonymous "pings" to Google for aggregate audience modelling, but no individual data or persistent ID is kept.
Default is full denial for analytics and marketing. That's the strict Quebec Loi 25 requirement.
